Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Shehu Garba, was a guest on Pyramid Radio in Kano State yesterday. During his interview, he disclosed that President Buhari has another office by his living room where he works from home when most civil servants have closed for the day. Responding to a question on what the President's routine has been like since returning from his medical vacation, Garba said President Buhari had been receiving briefs from everyone including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Bukola Saraki, House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara and many others. He stressed that President Buhari does not have to always be in his presidential office to carry out his duties. "I read those analyses and I believe they were mostly wrong. 35 year old medical doctor, Allwell Orji pictured above, committed suicide yesteray by jumping off the 3rd mainland bridge. Orji who works with Mount Sinai hospital Lagos, was returning from church when he ordered his driver to stop his SUV car. He openned his door and jumped into the lagoon. The Lagos state Emergency Management Authority LASEMA and Rapid Response Squad, are still searching for his body.

A 500 level student of the department of Urban and Regional Planning, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, Oyo State, Adesoji Adediran, has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself inside his room in his hostel over the weekend. According to his friends, the deceased was found dead at about 5:30 am on Saturday March 18th. His roommates who had gone to read in their class over the night, returned to their room to find his body dangling from the ceiling. The school authorities were informed and the police was invited. His remains was evacuated and deposited at the state mortuary. The parents of the deceased who were later informed, reportedly asked that the case should not be pursued and that his classmates should also not hold a candle light procession for him as they want him to rest in peace. A woman has been arrested by the police for allegedly throwing her newborn baby in a pit toilet in Zaki Biam, Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State in the early hours of Sunday, March 19th. The baby miraculously survived after neighbours heard the child crying from deep inside the pit and quickly rescued him. The woman is currently in police custody. Another photo after the cut.

Liz, wife of Filmmaker/photographer, Yomi Black, believes that it's an insult to say women are equal to men. According to her, women are not equal but newer, revised, upgraded beings. "It's an insult to women to say we are equal to men, we are not equal to them, we are newer, revised, upgraded beings, man wasn't good enough, so a woman was created. Don't mistake the position we took as helpers as though we are less, we are just humble, period," Liz said.

An early morning fire outbreak at EMAB plaza, Abuja destroyed a number of shops with goods worth millions of Naira yesterday March 19th. It is alleged that the fire started from an electric fault. See more photos from the scene after the cut.

T he Lagos State Emergency Management Authority has partially revealed the identity of the medical doctor who jumped off 3rd mainland bridge yesterday. A statement released by the agency says they received a distress call about a man who parked his grey coloured Nissan SUV with registration number LND 476 EE at about 4.50 pm around Adekunle, inward 3rd Mainland bridge and jumped into the Lagos Lagoon. Preliminary investigation at the scene revealed that the man named Allwell Orji who was said to be driven by his driver, suddenly ordered the driver to pull over, came down from his car and suddenly jumped into the water from the bridge. The vehicle and the driver has been taken to Adeniji Adele Police Station for further investigation, while effort is on going to recover his body from the Lagoon. The General Manager LASEMA Mr Adesina Tiamiyu said that proper investigation would be conducted on the incident by the appropriate authorities.
