As the country battles the current epidemic of Meningitis in Northern Nigeria, the senate on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 urged the Federal Ministry of Health and the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to make meningitis vaccinations free in public healthcare facilities across the country. During plenary, the Senate also stressed on the need for an increase in the budget of the Federal Ministry of Health, in order to ensure that the Ministry and its parastatals are able to better fund healthcare-related activities in the country. The Senate President assured Nigerians that the Senate is prepared to promptly pass any supplemental appropriation request to combat disease outbreaks.

Actress, Tonto Dikeh has Issued out an apology to journalist, Azuka, after saying that her estranged husband Olakunle Churchill offered her N3 Million to defend his lies for an all tell interview with his family. Recall that Tonto Dikeh, in the comment section of her Instagram page, called out her estranged husband Olakunle Churchill and journalist Azuka Ogujiuba of Media Room Hub implying that the journalist was allegedly paid to carry out an interview, which she carried out a few weeks ago, (read  here  if you missed it.) "My attention has been brought to a post on instablog claiming I said zukulicious of mediahub was paid 3million Naria by my enstranged/Ex husband.  Every day I receive numerous messages and dms regarding this situation and on one occasion this information reached me. I have utmost respect for @zukiliciouz first as a person then as a journalist.  I would like to correct this what I wrote was she was OFFERED,And at no point did I hear or say she was paid

It was indeed an amazing and colourful event held in Abuja over the weekend as the Northern Nigeria Peace award centre stage. The 2017 edition of the honour attracted several dignitaries including the Kano State Governor, though represented. The event which was designed to celebrate Northern peace icon and agents of change that have impacted positively towards empowering victims of crisis and supporting peace campaigns. Amongst notable award recognitions of the night was Big Church Foundation, a charity and empowerment NGO owned by Dr. Olakunle Churchill. ‎The foundation was honoured for its several  charity supports in the North like Bauchi, Benue, Kano, Gombe and recently in Kaduna, during the KADA River Massacre in Southern Kaduna. The foundation was also in the news days ago for paying off the house rent debt of an orphanage in Nassarawa state.
