Nigerian Filmmaker, Kemi Adetiba took to her Twitter to address people who send her unsolicited movie scripts and ideas, saying she has a first degree in law and knows how these things work. Recall that Jude Idada had accused Omoni Oboli of copyright infringement on the “Okafor’s Law” movie, adding that she stole his story idea for the movie in September 2016. "I thoroughly understand the drive and hunger to break out, but you really shouldn't send out finished scripts or film ideas without some written legal protection anyway. I appreciate it, but I delete as soon as I see the words "...this great idea/script." I have a first degree in law.. I ain't playing with y'all."

Zenith Basketball league dunks off April 10 in Abuja, N35m committed

The 2017 Zenith Bank Basketball League has been scheduled to start on April 10 in Abuja with the financial institution committing N35m to the sponsorship of the competition. The Deputy Managing Director of the bank, Ebenezer Onyeagwu, on Tuesday at the Zenith Corporate headquarters in Lagos told newsmen that contributing to the development of the basketball game over the years was a delight to the organization. A woman who was desperate to have a baby boy has finally given birth to her first son, after having 11 daughters. The mum, named as 40-year-old Bhagyamma, gave birth to her 12th child at home then called an ambulance who took the baby to a health centre where doctors declared him healthy and well. The boy, born last weekend, hasn't been named in reports yet. He came after years of Bhagyamma trying for a son, but having girls time and time again. The birth happened in the village of Kurkenahalli, in the town of Madhugiri, Tumkuru District, Karnataka State in southern India. Proud dad, 45-year-old Ramakrishnappa has been married to his wife for sixteen years and said it was because of "social stigma" that put pressure on the pair to keep trying for a boy. The couple said: "We have not denied food, education and clothes to the rest of our children." The family live on a large area of land and work as sheep farmers, owning 20 of the animals. Brexit: UK Prime Minister signs the letter that will trigger Article 50

UK Prime Minister, Theresa May is to trigger Article 50 today and as a result kick-start the Brexit process that will see Britain leave the European Union in two years' time. The UK voted to withdraw from the EU in a hotly contested and controversial referendum in June 2016 but formal "divorce" proceedings cannot begin until the Prime Minister officially informs Europe that the government is triggering Article 50. That is expected to happen at 1.30 p.m. Wednesday (7.30 a.m ET) in Brussels, when Tim Barrow, the UK's permanent representative to the EU, delivers a letter of notification to European Council President Donald Tusk. Theresa May was photographed signing the letter on Tuesday night.

Indonesian villagers feared the worst after their friend went missing on Sunday and where they found him was horrifying. The lifeless body of 25-year-old Akbar Salubiro, was found inside the stomach of a 7m-long python, who had swallowed him whole. According to reports, the deceased was said to have gone to harvest palm oil, but never returned home. Concerned friends and family who went in search of him saw the giant python in Salubiro’s backyard the next evening and feared he had been suffocated and swallowed. One friend who then used an 18-inch knife to cut the snake open found Salubiro’s body swallowed whole.

Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, says, contrary to previous claims, the Nigerian military has not been able to kill the leader of the Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau. The Minister stated this when he spoke with state house correspondents after a meeting with President Buhari at the villa in Abuja. “I believe it is just a matter of time. It took America about seven to ten years to get Bin Laden. So. we will get Shekau as soon as possible. The sect’s spiritual headquarters has been ransacked and vandalised. He (Shekau) is on the run. He may be hiding in one of the enclaves of Sambisa Forest which we are dominating. We have opened up the place. I have killed 18 people- 17 year old Boko Haram suspect confesses

17 year old Boko Haram suspect, Ali Mustafa, Tuesday confessed to have killed 18 people since he was forced to join the terror group three years ago. Ali confessed to the crime when he was paraded by men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC).  Ali told newsmen that himself and other young boys were abducted from Konduga after an attack carried out by the group. He said during his stay with the group, he was trained in the use of assault rifles and other dangerous weapons which he used to execute his victims. “I was forced to join Boko Haram about three years ago. Boko Haram insurgents came to our village and forcefully took many of us away. We were kept in the bush camp near Kala Balge and from there we carried out various operations, during which I personally killed 18 persons. I can handle all kinds of guns including AK-47 and AA (anti aircraft) rifle". Ali said he ran away from the group recently when himself and two others were sent to spy on the city

Tennessee couple arrested for selling their baby for $3k online

A Tennessee couple accused of trying to sell their baby son for $3000 via an American advertising website, Craigslist has been arrested. John David Cain, 26, and Deanna Lynn Greer, 37, face charges of aggravated child abuse and aggravated child neglect/endangerment in the case.  The couple reportedly posted an ad on Craigslist trying to sell their 5-month-old baby for $3,000  Minutes after the ad went up online, an undercover investigator met with the two at a Dollar General, paid them $3,000 and was given the baby. They were then arrested after the transaction, WATE reported. The child has been taken into protective custody by foster parents. Mr. Cain and Ms. Greer are currently held in jail on $150,000  bonds.

Man allegedly kills his girlfriend, injures three of her relatives then shoots at two strangers

A Florida man has been arrested for a shooting that left his girlfriend dead and five others injured, including a teenage girl waiting for the school bus. Allen Cashe, 31, shot his girlfriend on Monday following a dispute at her home shortly after 6 a.m. The verbal argument escalated to a physical fight and the police were called in to intervene. A few hours before the shooting, a Sanford police officer had to separate the couple as they were fighting at a gas station but that was not the end of their fight. Less than an hour later, police received another call about the couple quarreling. An officer got there and gathered that they were arguing over personal possessions. The officer also learned that Cashe had a gun but the officer did not see one so he simply separated them and asked Cashe to go home. Not long after the officer left, Cashe allegedly opened fire on his girlfriend's residence, killing her and injuring her two sons and her father.  The boys and their grandfathe

6 killed in plane crash near Zimbabwe-Mozambique border (Photos)

Six people have died following a plane crash on Monday near the border between Zimbabwe and Mozambique. The eight-seater plane crashed in the mountainous Vumba area, a picturesque tourist area in eastern Zimbabwe, near the border with Mozambique, the Herald newspaper reported. But District police commander in Mozambique, Gelindo Vumbuca, said the crash occurred in the Machipanda mountain range.According to reports, four of the dead are directors of a local transport company who were coming from a business meeting in Mozambique's port city of Beira.
