A Chinese woman, Ms Alimihan Seyiti, from China's western Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, is believed to be the world's oldest person after celebrating her 131st birthday on June 25. Her ID card shows she was born on June 25, 1886 and she spent her birthday at home with her 56 descendants. Yesterday, the Spanish Government deported 23 Nigerians for committing various offences in the country. Their deportation comes barely five days after 34 Nigerians were sent home from six European countries for committing immigration-related offences. According to  DSP Joseph Alabi, the spokesman of the Lagos Airport Police Command, the new deportees, comprising 21 males and two females, were brought back in a privilege style aircraft with registration number EC-IZO. He also said that the deportees were received by officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and the Police. Others also on ground to receive them were officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).   According to him, nine of the deportees, who were deported for drug-related offences, were handed over to the NDLEA. Some victims of the notorious kidnapper, Chukwudumeje Onwuamadike popularly known as “Evans”, have expressed fears that their lives may be in danger considering that there are members of his gang and people loyal to him who are yet to be arrested. Chief Donatus Dunu, one of Evans' victims who escaped from the Igando hideout after plans were made to kill him, condemned the release of his worker, Emeka Egbulugha, who he claimed supplied inside information that led to his kidnap.    Another victim, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, said he was held by the abductors for six months and still lives with the trauma.
