Chief Sunbo Onitri, a former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP chieftain and CEO of Sunbo Onitiri & Company in Lagos was at the Abuja house in the United Kingdom on May 29th, 2017 to deliver a letter to President Buhari who is undergoing treatment over his illness. In his letter received by Buhari’s PA, he prayed for the quick recovery of the president, and also highlighted some of the issues being faced by the common man in Nigeria in recent times. According to the burial committee set up for late Nollywood actress, Moji Olaiya, her remains will arrive Nigerian from Canada on  Tuesday June 6, 2017  along with her new born baby girl. Yomi Fabiyi, the Publicity Secretary for the burial committee issued a statement on the development that reads;    'The remains of the Late Moji Olaiya and her daughter will arrive Nigeria from Canada on  Tuesday 6th June, 2017 (We will not like to go into details of the flight itinerary because of the baby involved, only the family and few friends will recieve them. Agriculture goes digital | FAO hands over Innovative Agric Data Collection System To FMARD Nigeria

In a bid to ensure Nigerians have easy access to more data on agriculture, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Nigeria handed over the Computer Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI) system developed with the support of the Agricultural Market and Information System (AMIS) to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on the 31st of May, 2017 in Abuja.  AMIS, which is an inter-agency platform housed in FAO, was initiated in 2011 by the Ministers of Agriculture of the G20 countries to improve food market transparency, coordination and monitor price volatility. Former US president, Barack Obama has issued a statement expressing his disappointment in Donald Trump for pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement. Obama accused Trump of “rejecting the future” by pulling out of the Paris climate deal saying, 'this Administration joins a small handful of nations that reject the future.” At the moment, 194 countries including Nigeria still remain in the agreement while US joins Syria and Nicaragua as one of the three countries not in the Paris climate agreement.   Read the full statement from Obama below... Senate confirms appointment of 15 officials as INEC Electoral Commissioners (Full list)

The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the appointment of 15 persons as Resident Electoral Commissioners, RECs, of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. In March 2017, President Muhammadu Buhari nominated 27 persons requesting the confirmation of the 27 nominees in compliance with the provision of section 14(3)(a) of the Third Schedule to the 1999 Constitution. 33 states have been without RECs, who head the operations of the Independent National Electoral Commission at sub-national units. During the plenary session Thursday, Sen. Suleiman M. Nazif read the report on the screening of 15 REC officials for Independent National Electoral Commission. After consideration of the report, the Senate confirmed the appointment of 15 officials as INEC Electoral Commissioners on Twitter. Senate president. NURTW chieftain, Hamburger's wife, daughter arrive Nigeria from Dublin for his burial

The wife of NURTW chieftain killed in Shogunle on May 29 (read  here ) has returned to Nigeria with her eldest daughter, for the burial of her husband. Alhaja Abolore Bello flew in from Dublin, Ireland, ahead of Aro Rasaq Bello's burial which has been slated for  Friday 2 June . A family source told P.M.Express that the wife came into Nigeria  on Wednesday  night with their first daughter, Kafayat, and they are currently staying with the deceased's mother in Lagos. Before his death, 49-year-old Aro Rasaq Bello, AKA Hamburger, was the chairman of the Lagos State Motorcycles Owners Association in Oshodi. Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo speaks from prison, accuses court registrar of stalling her release

​Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo, a social media enthusiast and daughter of a former governor of Old Oyo State, Omololu Olunloyo, has accused the chief registrar attached to the Port Harcourt Division of the Federal High Court of sitting on her case in order to keep her perpetually behind bars, despite having allegedly met her bail conditions. But Maimunat Folami, the Deputy Chief Registrar, strongly denied the allegations, stating that her office had cooperated fully with Ms. Omololu-Olunloyo’s counsel to ensure proper vetting of her bail documents. “We have done everything that we’re supposed to do,” Ms. Folami said. “This allegation is very strange.” Ms. Omololu-Olunloyo spoke inside Port Harcourt Prison, where she had been remanded since her initial arraignment in mid-March for alleged criminal defamation against a Port-Harcourt-based preacher, David Ibiyeomie.
