​Toyin Abraham’s Alakada Reloaded had a ground-breaking cinema debut weekend as the hilarious comedy recorded sold out shows at a number of key cinema sites across the country. The film grossed an unprecedented N25million in its first 3 days at the cinema. Alakada Reloaded’s astonishing opening weekend, which began in cinemas nationwide last Friday, 26th May, has placed it firmly in the current top 5 releases of 2017. Other movies in this list include Okafor’s Law, which made N90million, Omugwo, with N48million, Hire a man with N45million and American Driver with N41million none of which beat Alakada’s opening weekend. Nigerian actress Bewaji Folashade barely escaped with her life after she got kidnapped on her way from a movie location. According to the fast rising movie star, she got picked up by the men of the underworld and shoved on a bike, and then they drove off to an unknown location. There was serious tension yesterday between Naval and Police officers around IBB axis. The clash reportedly started after a police officer allegedly fired a shot at a Naval personnel during a provoked conversation. The argument started after a police traffic warden stopped a group of Naval officers that reportedly tried to beat the traffic light at a check point opposite the Navy barracks in the Akim area of the town in the afternoon of that particular day.  Naval officers reportedly embarked on a reprisal attack on the police officers around Akim police station stretching to IBB way. The clash resulted in the death of three police officers and a police station set ablaze by the rampaging Naval officers‎. The Naval officers reportedly stopped fire fighters from stopping the fire at the station. Meanwhile the Naval authorities are yet to comment on the unfortunate incident. Vanity! Members of Ugandan businessman Ivan Ssemwanga’s Rich Gang on Tuesday poured expensive champagne and splashed money in his grave before burial. The group, popular in Uganda and South Africa for its expensive lifestyle, sent-off their leader in a fashion that left mourners amazed. They popped a bottle of champagne and poured it in the grave and shortly after started splashing money. The floor of the white and black tiled grave was filled with denominations of Ugandan shillings, South African Rands and US dollars. A video shared by Uganda’s Daily Monitor newspaper showed the gang members unmoved as the crowd jeered at the way they splashed money into the grave. Ivan was known for splashing money at revelers in parties he attended in Uganda.
