A couple in China who reside in Anhui City, were furious when they found out that a hospital had failed to keep the new mother's placenta and that it had been stolen by a cleaner in the hospital. The woman's husband, Lu Yanggang said his wife went into labour and gave birth to a baby boy at Wuxing Subdistrict Community Health Service Centre in Changzhou on the afternoon of March 24, then they told the hospital staff that they wanted the placenta so they could bury it in their home town in line with their village's culture. He said they were told to come back for the placenta later as it would have to be sent for inspection. Two days later, the new parents visited the hospital but were shocked to find that the placenta had been stolen. Lu said to the reporters: 'The doctor says we took it and obviously we didn't. Raudthif Athif, a 21-year-old international model and medical student from Maldives, who appeared on the cover of Vogue magazine was found dead in a hostel dormitory in Bangladesh on Wednesday, March 29th. Athif became an internet sensation in the Maldives in 2014 after she posted a shoot online called the "Maldivian Girl With Aqua Blue Eyes"...   Her body was discovered hanging from the ceiling fan by her classmates. The student of Rajshahi Islami Bank Medical College, was buried  on Saturday  after the autopsy report ruled her death a suicide.   Her family buried her at Hetom Khan Cemetery with the help of local police and Quantum Foundation..   The funeral was attended by her family, classmates and Aishath Shakir, ambassador from the Maldives, according to Enayet Kabir Milon, a Quantum Foundation spokesperson. Well known Nigerian fabric merchant, Ronke Teluwo Okunubi passed away in Manchester, United Kingdom on March 26th, days after celebrating her husband's 40th birthday with lovely photos posted on Instagram. She was age 34.   Her shocking and sudden death has thrown family and friends into mourning as the mother of three boys was not sick. Some people claim that she was poisoned. The owner of online fabric store, Doro Fabrics graduated from the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State, where she met her husband Adewale Okunubi.   A devoted Muslim, Ronke was buried on Saturday, April 1,at Denehurst cemetery according to Islamic rite. Blessing, wife of late Chukwuma Eleje, a delivery agent with Jumia, an online marketing store, who was murdered and thrown into a septic tank, has said that their four children were still expecting the return of their father. Mrs. Eleje, recalled how her husband promised the children that he was coming back home after the day’s work with a lot of goodies for them, lamenting that her 38-year-old husband was no more. It will be recalled that Chukwuma was killed by three assailants at Shell Location, Mgbuoba, Off Ada George Road, Port Harcourt, where he had gone to deliver two phones. The suspected killers, Sodienye Mbatumukeke, Excel Naabe and Joy Eluwa, had since been arrested by operatives of the Rivers State Police Command. President Buhari has appointed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as the Chairman of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA. In a statement released by his special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, President Buhari also appointed Mustapha Yunusa Maihaja as the new Director-General of NEMA. Other members of the NEMA Board are the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Engr. David Babachir Lawal; Captain Talba Alkali, representing Ministry of Transport and Aviation; Amb. Rabiu Dagari, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Dr Ngozi Azadoh, Ministry of Health; Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido, Ministry of Interior; Engr. Ajisegiri Benson Akinloye; Ministry of Water Resources, AVM Emmanuel Anebi; Nigerian Armed Forces; and AIG Salisu Fagge Abdullahi, Nigerian Police Force. into the executive management of some government agencies and parastatals.
