Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora has called on the attention of Nigerians that all Facebook accounts in her name are fake and advised that they should be vigilant not to be tricked by imposters offering fake promises of gifts.

It has been revealed that since taking over the operation of Arik airline in February 2017, the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, AMCON, has put in a total of N1.5 billion to resuscitate the airline. This was made known by Captain Roy Ilegbodu, the Chief Executive Officer of Arik Air, during an interactive session with journalists. He revealed that in the last two months that his team took over operation of Arik, following their appointment by AMCON, they have made efforts to regain control. He commended AMCON for its support and revealed what is being done to keep the airline operational. "AMCON indeed has been very supportive with funds and that is why we are still here today. I would say that in the first couple of weeks that we took over, AMCON injected approximately N1.5 billion. The Nigerian Embassy in Washington has not paid workers for the past five months, forcing them to embark on strike, Channels TV reports. Although some departments of the embassy are said to still be functional, they threatened to report the embassy to the U.S. Labour Department. There were no official functions at the embassy on Tuesday, as the workers only gathered at the lunch room in the basement.  The embassy in Washington and the consulate in New York are said to be currently cash strapped, with staff and local workers not being paid for months. A source close to the Presidency said there has been a lot of mismanagement of resources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, causing a lack of concern for staff welfare and difficulty in the missions being able to carry out their functions. Cambodia Immigration Police raided an apartment in Mohaleap, Phnom Penh where 19 Nigerians were living together, and detained them all while they verified their documents. According to local media, officers detained them all and arrested 9 of them for working in Cambodia illegally without work permits. Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, says President Buhari has been transparent about his health status since his return from UK in March. Speaking to state house correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting which President Buhari failed to attend, Lai Mohammed said: “The President told the nation he has never been this sick and he is going to take it easy. He said it from day one when he came back from the UK. So whatever is happening today is not any strange development, it is exactly what he said – that he has been advised to take it easy by his doctors and that he will soon also go back for further treatment. I don’t think it’s anything different from what he has said. He has been quite transparent and upfront in matters concerning his health” he said.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today arraigned one Eucharia Ekezie before Justice Olasumbo Olajumoke Goodluck of the Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja, on a ten-count charge of conspiracy and obtaining by false pretence. Ekezie, in connivance with one Hamid Bakoji (now at large), allegedly defrauded over seventy job applicants to the tune of N3.920million under the pretext that the money would be used to facilitate employments for them in various federal government establishments including Central Bank of Nigeria, Nigeria Communication Commission, Federal Inland Revenue Service and National Assembly. The offence contravenes Section 8 (a) and 1 (1) (a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act, 2006. The three-man Presidential Investigative Committee set up by President Buhari under the chairmanship of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, to inquire into the Discovery of Foreign and Local Currencies by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at Osbourne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos and the Allegations of Due Process Violations in the Award of Contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE) is completing its assignment today and is scheduled to present its reports to the President on Monday, May 8, 2017.  This is accoridng to a statement released Wednesday by the media aide to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Laolu Akande. Presidnet Buhari on April 19th, suspended both men and ordered a full investigation led by Osinbajo.

Last month, former stripper and Instagram model Layla Lace claimed she's pregnant with Drake's baby and shared text messages to support her claim but Drake denied the incident ever happened. Last night, May 3, 2017, popular messaging app, WhatsApp had technical issues and was offline for over 2-hours in some parts of the world. It was unprecedented, no one saw it coming and the world panicked. Actress Kate Henshaw Wednesday evening took to her IG page to announce that she and the NGO she has been working with, ProjectAlert, would be refunding monies she solicited from the public for the treatment of baby Michael Alvez who has a cancerous growth on his face. Kate and the Project Alert team have been having a running battle with Michael's family over who manages the money. According to Kate, instead of her allowing the family have direct access to the money which is quite substantial, she would rather refund the money to those that have donated towards the treatment of the baby. According to a new biography, former US president Barack Obama proposed to a woman he dated in the 80's who rejected his proposal twice before he met and married his wife, Michelle Obama. The woman is said to be Sheila Miyoshi Jager who is of Dutch and Japanese descent. The author of the new book, "Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama," David Garrow, says Obama met Jager in the mid-'80s when he was doing community organizing in Chicago.  Garrow said that when he interviewed Jager, she told him that even back then, Obama had a strong belief he'd someday become President of the United States. She also told the author Obama had "a deep-seated need to be loved and admired."
