President Buhari re-nominates 82yr-old retired Justice Sylvanus Nsofor as non-career ambassador


President Buhari has re-nominated 82 year old Justice Sylvanus Nsofor fom Imo state, to the senate for screening and possible confirmation as a non-career ambassador.

Nsofor was earlier rejected by the senate in March for looking too fragile and not been able to answer the questions asked of him when he appeared before the senate committee on Foreign affairs.


Justice Sylvanus Adiewere Nsofor who retired as a Justice of Court of Appeal in March 2005 after clocking the mandatory retirement age of 70, was among the 47 names forwaaded to the senate for confirmation by President Buhari earlier this year. Only 45 of them were confirmed by the senate.

Justice Nsofor and another nominee, Jacob Adegoke from Ondo state were rejected by the senate for not answering their questions properly.
